Capital Water develops and implements technological solutions for the treatment of contaminated water in Lima, Peru, and its surrounding areas. Currently only a small percentage of Lima’s wastewater is treated and reused in some form, with the majority discharged either into the rivers or directly into the Pacific Ocean. Capital Water works with governmental, municipal and commercial clients on both turnkey and BOT projects, either delivering completed solutions to clients or operating them on clients’ behalf for an extended period. In providing Lima with effective wastewater treatment solutions, Capital Water helps reduce pollution and contributes to a cleaner coastline. Much of the reclaimed wastewater is used for the irrigation of public green spaces, thus reducing pressure on Lima’s extremely vulnerable supplies of drinkable freshwater, which have long exposed the city’s poorest residents to dangerous waterborne diseases. Meanwhile the parks maintained using the treated water boost Lima’s livability and provide essential recreational spaces for its residents.
